Harvey the "Smiling Wombat" honors a major moment for the USAF.

USAF F-15 Shoots Down a Satellite

Harvey has a great interest in aviation and in particular the U.S. Air Force since his sponsor served proudly during the Viet Nam war.  As he read about the history of the Air Force he came across a somewhat forgotten story.  In 1985 an F-15 equipped with a special missile had managed to shot down and destroy a satellite in orbit 300 miles above the earth.

This was a major accomplishment so Harvey got busy designing a T-Shirt to honor this event.

A couple of days later he was satisfied with his design and got his T-Shirt posted on his store.

Much to his surprise, a couple days later he found that the first customer to purchase the shirt was actually an aero space engineer who was involved in the design and building of the very missile which had destroyed the satellite in 1985.

The customer was kind enough to send us a picture of the T-Shirt right after he received it.  How cool is that?  Here is the picture.

Many thanks to our customer for buying our shirt and for his service to the country.

We are very pleased that we have been able to help people remember this memorable event.
