Product Details
Mazda 787B- MazdaSpeed
June 23, 1991, Mazdaspeed —Mazda’s motorsports subsidiary—had won the brutal 24 Hours of Le Mans, endurance racing’s most famous event. It was an enormously popular and historic victory. No other rotary-powered car had ever won the race before, and Mazda was the first Japanese manufacturer to win the event.
The Mazda 787B was powered by a 4 Rotor Wankel engine capable of producing up to 900 Horsepower but was detuned to around 650 in order to increase reliability.
It was a brutal race. So exhausting that, at the end of the race, lead driver Johnny Herbert had to be assisted out of the car and required medical assistance. He even missed the podium celebration.
Part of the "Smiling Wombat" Racing Sports Cars Collection this Mazda 787B design is digitally printed on Premium 100% T-Shirts, Premium Crewneck Sweatshirts, and High-Quality Hoodies.
